The Krishna Key Author : Hema Blog :TELL A STORY - MY WAY Date: 9/26/2012 3:08:00 PM This is my fourth review book from Blog adda, but the first fictional novel from them. This is the first book I am reading of the author Ashwin Sanghi and it was very good. The Chanakya Chant, the second book by him is still in my TBR. The Krishna Key is a thriller story bringing out the religious heritage of the Hindus. Ravi Mohan Saini, the professor at the St. Stephen's college, is arrested for the murder of his best friend Anil Varshney. Varshney had already given the professor heads up about the antique box that he needs to protect, all of Varshney's contacts and what to do in case Varshney is dead. Radhika Singh, the cop who is dealing with the murder, charges Ravi Mohan as he was the last person who had seen Varsheney alive, and all clues lead to him. Things take a wild turn when his doctoral student Priya Ratanani, along with the help of her father, helps him escape from prison. This makes both of them a fugitive and the chase to find the antique box leads on. One by one all the friends of Varsheney are murdered and Ravi Mohan is charged with their murder too. The murderer, Taarak Vakil, performs the same brutality with every person in possesion of the box, and cleverly leaves trails leading to Ravi Mohan. During his visit to his last friend Chheddi, true colours of people are revealed and both Ravi Mohan and Radhika Singh are taken aback. A series of events and clues takes us to the answer of The Krishna Key, with the protagonist Ravi being helped by Radhika Singh.Mr. Sanghi's story telling was very vivid and the illustrations helped a lot. He has done a lot of research on each and every topic that was being discussed in the plot. An otherwise boring rendition of just facts has been made racy with some good thriller plot. The dialogues leading to discussions and explanations of petty topics were provided for the benefit of the readers, but I don't think real researchers would go over minute details they knew in common. This could have been part of the narration. It was a bit like The Davinchi Code but this was the Indianized version with more delving into its proud heritage. Some of the facts provided were breath taking, but the author clearly indicates that these are just works of fiction. The ending also I felt was some how very similar to the Davinchi code except here the author makes no firm comment on the location of "The Krishna Key" and ends up saying that the alchemy is just to raise our minds to a higher level, not just the base metal to gold.
