A gap insists on being felt
Somewhere between the rush
of aimless meanderings
and the flow of inane thoughts
like a rock in the middle of a stream
causing a floating leaf to dash itself
It turns, swerves and rushes ahead, unhurt
yet I cannot.
You left your words scattered all over
They lie orphaned in our hiding places
some still cling together,
trying to recreate your image
while life swooshes over them
impatient to sweep away broken bits
Is it you I miss or myself
for I am just another bitmap image of us
a part, lovely when the picture is whole
a part of no use when the rest is gone.
