The page remains blank
till eyes begin to read
Thoughts travel downstream, hitting rocks
surprised to find themselves
no longer under cover
Feet press against the gravel,
massaged by the familiar smoothness
of years of drought-less flow
On the other side is warm sand
white, glistening with unseen charms
and not a soul around
A gnarled tree turns to look,
its dwindling leaves advertising shelter
Busy sparrows hop around
as shadows flirt with an imaginary breeze
In this deserted patch of dreams
I lie, letting life dance around me
Till a stream emerges,
rejuvenating the river.
Till the river overflows its banks
till the page turns into an ocean of worded bliss.
