Scene: Sanja latest obsession is to draw draw color color draw draw color color atleast 10-15 pages a day.
So she is busy drawing and finds that her pencil is not sharp enough. Here is how she got hold of a sharpener

Sanja: Appa , appa , thruvan thariya
S : !!!! apadina - (means?)
Sanja: Adhan pa pencil thuruvardhu
S: (smacks on head) you mena sharpner.
Sanja: yes appa.

We say thuruvardhu for coconut grating. She applied the same word for the sharpening her pencil.

And guess what the actual tamil word for pencil sharpener is  vericil  thuruki(வி ரி சி ல்  து ரு கி  .). Wow that was  a close match.
