It was a hectic weekend.
Yup. Really.
We were roaming around Singapore....doing things we love doing again and again :-)
As a matter of fact, Pappa decided all the outings this time : so there were no mall trips :-)
We started off friday with a trip to the Zoo...saw the crocodile sleeping...waited for the white tiger to get up and growl and pace...talked to the little wallaby who was nibbling on leaves and who was exactly 85 cm...yup, I can bet on it....cos its the same height as me!
We moved on to feed the elephant bananas and apples and carrots. Then we sat down for our lunch of parathas and saw the elephants crack open coconuts and eat them!
After lunch we went on the African trail and saw the rhino, the zebras, the lion and the lioness, the leopard and the cheetah ...and fed the giraffe. In the queue to feed the giraffe, Mamma made friends with a cute American lady of Japanese origins. Mamma knows the Japanese are mighty strong on their manners and was afraid to offend her...but she was very sweet and nice and talked to Harshil too.
We moved on to the spiders and snakes and turtles and bats and what not ! Usually that portion of the zoo was hidden from us cos Harshi would be tired by the time we fed the giraffes. But this time the weather was so nice and Harshi was so happy to see all the animals that we gawked and gawked and probably bored them all out of their skins :)
Then we saw the orangutan who was mighty irked at his care taker and wouldn't come down for his lunch. Mamma thinks the construction sounds so near by must have made him cranky.
We returned via the wooden plank walk and saw a peahen. Our Japanese friend caught up with us there and asked Mamma for a photo. Mamma was as pleased as an apple pie :):):)
Harshi had a wild wicked time there :) Pappa had a tough time convincing Harshi to come back home. Mamma was afraid which corporate company would end up sponsoring Harshi's upkeep at the Zoo. Harshi is vegetarian and usually in a good mood, so its not like it would be too much trouble, you know!
Saturday morning was a blissfully relaxed affair till Pappa remembered that we had an appointment for the open house at a nearby preschool for Harshi. The place turned out to very different from what we wanted, but Harshi had a grand time with all the toys and balloons on offer! Poor Mamma and Pappa took turns listening to a talk by the Principal.
That evening we went to see the laser show at the Marina Bay Sands. The lights were as good as ever and caught Harshi spellbound. Mamma highly recommends the Pita Pan outlet there : yummy veggie food ! Friendly staff too.
There was an Andie Warhol exhibition going on. Harshi took some pics. Will upload them when Pappa takes care of the space problem on my blog :p Readers, this is your cue to go and bug Pappa on my behalf.
We barely missed sitting on the Gondola. Harshi had to sing Row Row Row your boat standing on the shore itself :( Next time.
Sunday was spent at home, with an evening at the park with Pappa. Played with Dhruv, Varun and Anaya and had a grand time :)
Monday we went to see the cloud dome at the Gardens by the Bay. Harshi ran round and round the mushroom clouds. PA and Mamma took turns running after me. All the well behaved kids stopped being so well behaved and took off after Harshi. All that was missing was someone singing "choo choo choooo...". The cloud dome was beautiful. Mamma felt this was something Harshi's Dadi and Harshi's Nani would have enjoyed a lot. Waiting to take them around sometime soon!
