My mom used to take tuitions for children whose parents wanted them to become Engineers and Doctors since class 3.
So, a flock of children were always seen studying in my house so seriously that I was used to be embarrassed and walk out of my house to meet my friends to forget the scenes of their childhood.
Unfortunately, in one of the sessions of tuition, I had to stay back at home and help my mom.
There was this kid who used to sleep all the time, I had to lullaby him with nursery rhymes, another was weak in Math so I had to
help him in solve his Math problems.
The best part was this kid whose mom used to send a lot of good food for all. And that day she send some sweets. The kid, Aslam and his mom were so benevolent that frequently they send stuff to eat and since I couldn't go out, I was bestowed with the chance to eat the popular sumptous food.
She would send Kheer sometimes, some times Biryani.
Gosh! The food was so delicious and Aslam's mom was a wonderful woman. Rotund, happy, sweet and filled with love, she would send some yummy food item whenever Aslam scored well.
The following Eid, Aslam’s mom send so many things to eat. My mother, an idealist, refused to take any of the eatables she sent
But seeing my puppy dog face, she took it and then we gorged on a lot of sumptuous food.
From Haleem to Biryani to Sheer Khorma, Aslam's mom was a fabulous cook.
My mouth is watering while writing this too.
I always waited for Aslam and also Eid since then.
Alas! Mom had to stop taking tuitions after a while because of mysterious reasons.
I guess seeing my food habits. But I miss Aslam and his mom’s food. :(
Busy in appreciating the sumptuous food, I never had the time to wish you.
Eid Mubarak Aslam and Aslam's mom wherever you are!
May you feed more famished souls!
