Green Bappa is here again this year. We had some technical glitches earlier and our partners backed out, out domain got expired but in three days we have jumped in on again. You can find all the information on the website www.greenbappa.in
This site contains all the information that anybody would be interested in knowing about celebration of the Ganesh festival in an eco-friendly manner. We have given listings of shops selling eco-friendly Ganesh idols all over India, shops selling eco-friendly decorations which would be the most looked-up things on our site.
We have a video embedded on our site that shows how to make Ganesh idol at home from clay. We have got over a lakh hits on the video!
We have given a lowdown about Plaster of paris idols and the harm they do to the lakes and environment. We have an article about the bigger threat of artifical chemical colours that are used to colour the idols which are more harmful than the POP. Once they enter the eco-system, they have no way of disappearing and they end up in the food-chain, finding their way into our stomachs.
We have made some eco-friendly decorations on our own and have put up the videos and pictures with the process given in detail in our site. The videos can be found on our youtube channel- www.youtube.com/greenbappa . We have used materials that will disintegrate easily after their use.
You can get information about different methods of immersion of Ganesh idols after the festivals and some ways which are new and cause less harm to the water bodies.
Finally and most importantly, what is the final solution to the various problems caused due to our unimaginative and a very harmful way of celebration of the festival. You can also check out the work done by our group in the previous 3 years of our Eco-friendly Ganesha campaign that we are running.
Please promote the site and ask your friends and relatives to take a look and try to celebrate the festival with a bit more concern for Nature.
