What with her yoga classes and my gym classes and everything, Mamma felt she should spend some quality time with Harshi :)
We did have an exclusive two hours playdate with Keshu and Keshu's Mamma yesterday evening...but who is Harshi to question Mamma's feelings ;)
So we decided to go to the mall. Normally that is the easiest option in this hot weather...and its been a long time.....but reaching there took us almost an hour...though in the worst traffic it takes only fifteen minutes :)
You see, Harshi had to stop and talk to anyone who would give Harshi half a nod.
Then a van took a u-turn where Mamma thinks there was not enough space to do a u-turn herself, in her jeans and t-shirt.
Harshi watched very very closely...how else do you think we guys learn to drive so fast ?
Harshi even walked backwards till the van was lost to sight.
After that we passed a store was empty and being painted. The painter wore a very colorful overalls. Harshi took time to examine every small thing about him and the painting. Mamma was afraid the painter uncle would let Harshi play with the brush :)
Then there were steel railings used as dividers on the sidewalk. Harshi went from this side to that and finally Mamma hd to give up all her elegant facade of dignty and squeeze under the railings before Harshi got lost in the crowd on the other side.
Mamma says there's this phenomena : as soon as Harshi manages to loose Mamma's arms in any public place, a crowd appears and engulfs Harshi. As per her, the universe conspires this plan to panic all the Mammas and nothing else. Pappa says "as if the universe has no other business".
Anyways, onward we went and there came an aunty looking at us with so much surprise : come to think of it, even I have never seen a Mamma and her small not in a hurry unless they are inside the air conditioned malls.
She turned and looked and kept smiling till she was out of our sight.
After that came school kids...running and chasing and laughing and talking : all in red and white and holding balloons.
(Tomorrow is Singapore's National Day)
Need I say more ?
Harshi went bersek.
So we finally reached the mall another fifteen minutes later.
