When all her friends are celebrating their bonuses, Lexi Smart is disappointed as she has missed her first year bonus by just a week. To add to the injury, her boyfriend, Loser Dave, stood her up; her shoes are killing her and all she wants is a hot bath before attending her father's funeral. Desperate to get home she runs to hail a taxi and stumbles down a few steps and bumps her head.

When she opens her eyes, she sees a different person. A better person with a better life. She could not believe she has lost 3 years worth memory and has to put all the pieces together. Slowly she steps into her regular life, with her husband and her executive role at office. Overwhelmed, she tries to meet her old friends and learn how all these happened. With pain she learns that she is no longer the same Lexi but has become 'the cobra'ready to strike at a moments notice. She wishes to undo all the wrong things but she learns about her illicit relationship with her husband's architect.

What will Lexi do? How can she survive such a competent role at office? Why was she being unfaithful to her husband?

It was a real page turner. Sophie Kinsella has given the subtle mystery to this story too. I was laughing when her sister took advantage of her memory loss (moo-mah). It was a fun read and author doesnt spoil the ending by a miraculous recovery. Though a line of hope was necessary for this happy ending. A very light read with chick lit written all over it.
