This short tour was supposed to be my summer vacation trip so here are the positives about it.
We set off for Lahore early morning on the 12th at 5:45am by car. And it turned out to be one hell of an experience. All the way to Lahore we just laughed and laughed and laughed. As usual Tamur and Me were partners while Hamza and Manal were the other team. Best part were the strange names of the shops all along the way. One other thing to be noted was the banners and Wall chalking of Imran Khan/PTI. The weather grew more and more humid as we approached Lahore. We reached around 10:30 am and I was surprised to see Pakistan still batting. As is the usual case I spent most of my day watching the cricket match in the hope of a miracle but that was not to be. Pakistan lost their first Test series in two years and I can’t tell how disappointed I was. In the evening we went to our other cousins. This was actually the reason to visit Lahore in this extreme heat, meeting our new angel, Abiha. Such adorable little girl MashaAllah and my first ever bhatiji :D We all were tired so we slept early.
Next day the weather was really nice, it was cloudy with cool breeze blowing. This actually turned out to be the best day of the tour. We went to offer Jumma prayers in a mosque and my cousin was wearing the Pakistan Cricket Team’s Tshirt. With slightly long hairs he was looking more of an International cricketer and that was proved when a group of boys came towards him to ask if he plays for the Pakistani team. My cousin didn’t answer them and we went inside the mosque with the amazement to see most of the people turning back, some even trying their best to offer prayers with him :D
In the afternoon we played cricket with the local guys and its was so much fun. It had rained earlier so the weather was pleasant. We won the three match series 2-1. I actually played really well and was not out in all the three innings I played scorning 23* , 42* and 20* .. The pitch was really damp and the ball was skidding with low bounce so we planned not to hit the ball for boundaries but to rotate the strike and this paid off as we scored enough runs all the times batting first and kept close field so they can’t score quick, it was an easy series win we actually gifted the last match by bowling our lesser bowlers.
At night we went to the fortress stadium which is always our standard place to visit and its always fun. We were tired of all the walking so we decided to enter the play land and tried the Thrill Max Venture 3D and enjoyed every minute of it.
Next day was out last day and we had planned to watch a movie in the morning. We got ready for the cinema but were late and we didn’t exactly knew where It was situated.We wasted almost 45 minutes wandering here and there finding the cinema and reached there when the show had already begun, we didn’t want to go back home embarrassed so we decided to shop and went to the book store and bought cards for our cousin who’s birthday was today. Came back and told everyone that the movie was epic :D
Night time was the birthday celebration time and it turned out another memorable event with all the elders trying their best to get hold of the sweet dishes which they had to avoid and we trying our best to eat as much cake as we can.
Early morning Sunday we came back to Multan with no doubts in mind that Lahore, Lahore hai =)
