Power of words, the most potent kind of power man can possess. The authority of the pen, words that can change the world transform it for better or for worse. Not everyone has such control, influence over the words. But many like to think that they do. Such thick people sometimes also happen to think that they can actually write not just a few words but complete novels. 300 pages full of words puked all over the papyrus.

Recently I came across a novel, Fifty Shades of Grey. Had heard a lot about it, apparently best seller. So I finally decided to get hold of the book, finally after a year of it becoming a best seller. Even though I could only get hold of an electronic version, it gave me enough information to convince me that certain things should be left to the imagination. It’s better that way.
After reading a few pages, I saw a startling similarity to Twilight. A breathtakingly gorgeous man with a terrible secret, a not so breathtaking girl for who the Greek god falls, and of course after which the girl looses all her ability to think for herself. The difference here is that the dreadful secret the Star hides here is not the urge for blood but for kinky sadist sex.
The way the lead has been described, gives the impression that a man, full of himself and also full of money thinks he can own the world and is a control freak. (As pointed out a painful number of the time by narrator, the not so breathtaking girl.) Mr. Grey, the ‘dominant’ has major issues. Sexual, maybe psychological. It doesn’t really matter. Somehow he just gives you the vibe that if he really existed, then he would probably die alone, naked in the ‘Red room of Pain.’
This post could have been a more informed post if I had read the whole book, but after reading about 100 pages, my curiosity died, decomposed actually. I realized that there was nothing worth reading here, apart from the really raunchy sex and handcuffs and leather. And also it sounded really not pleasant, so I figured better be ignorant than sorry.
Anyway, has anyone else read ‘The Best Seller’ yet?
Well, if you guys have then , I would like to know about whether it was really worth the money, time and energy. =)
Oh and also, correct me if I am wrong, and you recommend I read it completely.
