The sketch I did today
Was a mere reminder
That I could
And so it finished
As it started
Shadows bore witness
To the light there is
Beyond the door
Left ajar and aching
For decisiveness
So when I drew
Mere lines drew
For if nothing else I could offer
In the name of what I asked for
The door is there
one way or the other
