No Kidding! We indeed hv two bdays a year. Its quite simple actually, One is your regular english calendar wala Bday, Other is as per the
Malayalam Calendar("Star Bday" as we call it).Thou if you as lucky as my sis, you can have as many as 3 Bdays a year. You c her B'day falls on eve of Krishna-Janmashtami. Now this festival falls on different days in different regions in India - so she invariably would have a b'day - one on the English calendar day n other two on eve of Janmashtami(one as per Malayalam calendar n other as per Telugu calendar... u c we bought up in hyd). More the merrier is her motto in life :-D
Jus so that it is in records, the official-recorder of all our "Star B'days" is my 7 year old niece. The rigors with which she grabs the "
Panchaangam", fills the calendar with jottings of bdays of all her near-dear ones is to be seen to be believed!
The reason for all this helluva discussion on "Star Bday" is simply cause it is the first "star Bday" of ma BIL with us! Dear Sree, here is hoping to hv many many sweet-n-happy moments with you in our lives..... Welcome Onboard!
