Other than books what periodicals do you read? Magazines? Newspapers? Newsletters? Journals? Do you subscribe? Or do you buy them on the newsstand when they look interesting?
There used to be a time when I read a lot of magazines- India Today, Businessline, Business Today, Reader's Digest, The Week, Frontline etc. I used to subscribe to Reader's Digest when I was in school. Back then, coming home from school and seeing the brown paper cover with the latest edition of the Digest was like a mini- party for me. I would pounce on the book even before I had changed out of my school uniform. My Grandfather had a collection of Readers Digests from the 50's up till the 80's and his library at my Dad's place was lined with wall after wall of these magazines. It was like a room full of treasure for me. I have lost count of the number of hours I have spent there. The stories and features back then were amazing- language wise and content wise. Towards my school days I felt their quality started declining. And so, after a couple of years of subscribing to the magazine, I stopped. After that it has always been about picking up a random magazine at the newsstand on the rare occassion. When I joinrd for my MBA reading business magazines was a must for us and so started my habit of flipping through business magazines. We had a well- stocked library at college, so buying a magazine was pretty much out of question for me. When I got to Singapore, I was stuck at home and bored to death and that is when I started subscribing to National Geographic. After a couple of years I stopped that too. I do buy women's magazines like Elle, Woman's World and Vogue once in a while but mostly end up just flipping through them rather than reading them, :)

So yes, I do read magazines but no, I do not subscribe or read any of them regularly. But if something on the cover catches my fancy I will surely pick it up! :)
