Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Limited (SPIC) is naphtha-based ammonia-urea complex at Tuticorin in Tamilnadu. Its anual urea productuion capacity is 620,000 tonnes. After achieving its annual production targetfor 2011-12, the plant was shutdown for a month long planned annual maintenance activities and re-started its urea production in April 2012.SPIC urea producing plant was closed for 3 years in year 2007 to 2010 and re-started urea production on October 2010.
