Plant testing work has intesified in Kanpur Fertilizers and Cement Limited (KFCL) after
getting power connection from KESCO. Ruined pipes and machineries have been replaced by new one. KFCL Management wants to starts urea production in shortest possible time. All the preparations for the same are being done like supply of Naphtha with no intruptions and Government has agreed for that. The Government has asked the KFCL (DUNCANS) to modified its urea production plant from naphtha based to gas based within 3 years as a special case.
Naphtha is the material used as feedstock for the urea production. Government wants that all urea ptoducers should convert themselves from urea based to gas based as soon as possible as it has to pay more subsidy to naphtha based urea ptoducers.
KFCL will get LNG Connection from Auraiyya-Jagdishpur Pipeline which is just 18 K.M. away from Kanpur Fertilizer plant. Arvind Kumar of IEL Employees Union and Vishnu Shukla of IEL Mazdoor Sangh have informed the media that the Urea production from 1 unit would start in end of July 2012.
