durgapur is a sleepy little ton with narrow but complicated road networks, and it takes a bit of asking to cross on to the highway, but in between lies the recently bathed barrage, and one cannot but stop, for there is the quintessential boatman in the distance, and the birds are all twittery after the rains...
and one sits out a few minutes as the cormorants chat weather, and the surprisingly grumpy heron perching on an islet a distance away, looking in the other direction...
