Finally, Idecided that I need a tablet; especially for watching all my favourite videosand reading pdf eBooks and browsing simple websites without having to switch onmy Laptop or Desktop. After making sure that a new tablet is absolutelynecessary for my lazy Survival, I started searching for a perfect one.
And that’show I got my eyes on the DOMO slate N8 tablet.
DOMO SlateN8 Tablet has an 850 MHz Processor and runs Android 2.2.
The BestBargain here is; I got it for 4990 from homeshop18. (Homeshop18 is the onlyonline store from where you can get this tablet). It has a 7 inch CapacitiveMulti-touch touch screen and supports Adobe Flash which means you can watch YouTubevideos directly on the device.

--Best Features--
Direct USB:
This is byfar the best feature of the Tablet. The Tablet has a Direct USB 2.0 slot (likethe one on any desktop computer). I bought a 16 GB Micro SD card for the tabletand found no use for it as the tablet can plug directly with my pen drive. Ican play any video/Audio/Document directly from my Pen drive; Makes life a loteasier.
The Tabletalso supports a micro SD card up to 32 GB.
My BluetoothMouse couples with the tablet so well!
Wi-Fi:
The Tablets Wi-Fiis of a short range and hence I am unable to wander too much far away from the Wi-Fisource. But it’s pretty Decent.
Applications/Android Market:
Full supportto Android Market and its applications. I can installanything I want. The TabletMultitasks a bit sluggish I should say. After installing more than 10Applications, it turned awfully slow. Iwould recommend uninstalling any application which you don’t use and keep ittrim.
I use andrecommend the following applications:
File Manager:Xplore for Android. I have been using this software from my 6600 to 5800 andnow in this device and so far nothing beats it.
Video: TheInbuilt player plays smooth. I use Moboplayer in combination with the inbuiltplayer for options.
PDF reading/EBooks: I use Beam reader and Aldiko. Beam reader for PDFs and Aldiko forreading eBooks in the epub format.
Browsing:There are a lot of browsers available, select the one which suits your needs. Ifind the inbuilt browser to be quite enough.
Preloaded Applications:
The Tabletis preloaded with the Complete Office Suite and Foxit reader which Makes iteasy to create, Edit and View Word Documents, Spread sheets and PowerPointPresentations and View PDF Files. The Pdf loading of course is a bit Sluggish.I use Beam reader as it loads a lot faster and has the text wrap Feature.
Resistive Multi-touch Touch Screen:
Initially I foundthe resistive touchscreen to be a bit slow and non-responsive, but then after aweek the Screen magically suited to my needs. I guess I learnt to use iteffectively on the go. The screen supports multitouch too!
Audio:
Audio isadequate for watching videos. Though I always use a head set / Ear phone forbetter clarity.
Video:
The PhonePlays 720p HD videos with ease with a resolution of 800 x 480 and an Aspect ratioof 16:9. I use the Moboplayer to play any format from AVI to MKV all loaded ina package. The Inbuilt Movies Player is adequate enough!
3G Connectivity:
I haven’t checkedthis one yet, but the tablet is built to support 3G dongles.
Battery:
It has a2400 mAh battery and I can watch my videos up to 3+ hours together. I stillhaven’t noted down the exact standby time, but it seems to be pretty decent tooso far.
Bottom line: Best Suited For WatchingVideos in 720p, Reading EBooks and browsing. Period.
If you are aserious Gamer/ involved with Heavy Applications/ Application Freak, this tabletis definitely not for you.
I bought theDOMO Slate N8 Tablet for watching videos, Browsing and Reading documents; andit definitely suits my needs. I highly recommend buying this tablet for asimilar very basic need. The DOMO Slate N8 is power packed to the max for itsPrice tag with useful adequate and graceful features. It made my day.
