Besan Burfi is a very popular recipe. It is a sweet and delicious Indian dessert/barfi made with besan/gram flour and ghee. These are usually made during festivals like diwali, holi etc. You can buy these from any Indian sweet shop and offcourse you can make it at home too, these are really simple to make and tastes awesome.

Ingredients:-

Besan/ Gram Flour:- 4 Cups
Ghee:-1 1/4 cup
Khoya:- 175 gm (6oz)
Sugar:- 1 1/2 Cup ( i used the grainy/raw sugar)
Water:- 2 1/3 cups

Procedure:-

1)Heat the ghee in a pan(preferably kadai) and add besan flour in it,keep the heat on mid to low flame and stir continuously.
2)After sometime you will notice the ghee is coming out of the flour and flour will become light and fluffy , now you know the flour is done and ready.
3)Switch off the gas and mix the khoya in the besan.
4)Now prepare the sugar syrup by adding sugar and water. Heat them in medfium-low flame (we need to prepare one string syrup consistency it takes about 5-8 minutes.)
5)Then add the sugar syrup in to the fried besan and stir well.
6)Transfer the contents in to a greased plate and cut in to pieces of desired sizes. (Sprinkle some slivered nuts or dessicated coconut if desired.)
Let it cool completely before removing the pieces from the plate ...
Enjoy:)
