Author : Muqhtadir      Blog :Written Opinion      Date: 2/20/2012 2:15:00 PM

The book is both engaging andilluminating. Tariq Ramdan has written in a compelling manner thatforces reader to heed his words and sentences. This seerah of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is written exceptionally well.

This book is writtendifferent manner. Author has not followed traditional seerah writing styleas he himself writes in introduction

“countless biographies ofprophet Muhammad already exist. From classical sources (such as theworks of Ibn Ishaq and Ibn Hisham) to more recent works by Muslimscholars over the course of history, it seems that everything musthave been exhausted. So why should we undertake another attempt?"

And authors answers “ to plunge intothe heart of the prophet's life and draw out its timeless spiritualteachings” “aim is to get to know the Prophet himself than tolearn about his personality or the events in his life”

Indeed author lives up to abovesentences.

The life of prophet Muhammad(PBUH) hasinspired many people across the globe. He is a teacher of Muslimcommunity. His teaching carries importance not just being a prophetbut he was an embodiment wisdom, humility and power.

Author has tried to derive lesson fromprophet's life. He used classical work of Ibn Hisham and hers and combined hisunderstanding to produce such remarkable book.

The book is a journey of spiritualfeeling and deep meditation. Author tried to find solution of manyproblems that plagued world in the light prophetic life. This bookanswer many questions. Like, importance of Hilf al-fudul, about hisbirth in desert, his being orphaned in childhood and so on.

Book has many illuminating chapters. Its enlarge readers horizon and gives opportunity to mind to ponder on importance of prophet's life.
