The Story Behind ALARM – Wake Up Guys!!

Anna Hazare started the fight against corruption in India and since then I wanted to support him. In the month of July – August 2011 Suraj approached me with a concept of producing a song through which we can support Anna Hazare and asked me to compose music and sing it. I started the work by composing tunes and he started writing lyrics for the Kannada version.
The composition,programming of the instruments, lyrics and a demo recording of the song were ready in around a month’s time. Then the thought of making video struck our minds and very soon Suraj contacted Raju Thandavpur to accompany our project by rendering his hands in the cinematography. Then began the final recording session and I rendered my voice for the lead vocals and the chorus part was sung by me, Suraj and Katyayini. The videos of the recording session were shot so that it can mixed in the official video of the song and then began the post production works!! i.e., editing, mixing and mastering of the audio by me and editing of the video by Suraj.
It took about 5 months for the whole song to get completed and the output was ready in the last week of December and Jan 8th 2012 was the day ALARM got released in a grand function! Veteran Journalists like Mr. Krishna Vattam, Mr. Venkatnarayan and Famous Kannada Cine Actor Mandya Ramesh released the song. The song was also screened at the function.

Articles and interviews were published in TIMES OF INDIA, DECCAN CHRONICLE and STAR OF MYSORE and TV9 Karnataka News Channel featured a special programme about the same song in their channel on 10th Jan 2012. I am happy to say that ALARM rang successfully and got some awesome responses. The Hindi version of the same song is all set to release now and its penned by my dear mother Dr. Mandara Maharishi.
