Queen of Babble Author : Hema Blog :TELL A STORY - MY WAY Date: 1/9/2012 10:06:00 AM The Story starts with Elizabeth (aka Lizzie Nichols) waiting at the Heathrow airport, to be picked up by her boyfriend Andrew Marshall. She briefly explains the story of how they both met 3 months ago and how after having spent just 24 hours with him, goes head over heels for him. She is so caught up with the romance that she does not remember to submit her final Thesis of her major (History of Fashion) she is graduating in. She does not tell this secret to anyone, not even to her best friend Shari, who is practically her sister. She decides to spend the summer with her boyfriend in London against the advice of every one in her family and especially Shari. She does not join Shari on her exotic vacation in a castle in France instead goes to meet Andrew with thousands of dreams and hopes about their future.Little does she know her future is going to take a wild turn. After having spent a couple of days with Andrew and his family, Lizzie realizes that she has done a terrible mistake jumping into a relation without learning about Andrew. Andrew does not behave as sincere as she expects him to be and even more he cheats on the government by signing up for unemployment benefits. Even more he has lost all the tuition money gambling. Upset with his character she leaves him then and there and takes off to France to meet her friend Shari. Knowing Shari's whereabouts she takes the train to France with a very turbulent mood. In the train she meets an American guy, Jean-Luc de Villiers to whom she keeps pouring all her secrets, because all she needed was a shoulder to cry. She is comfortable with it because she assumes that they are perfect strangers and will be on their own ways when they leave this train. But Luc or Luke is a friend of Chaz (Shari's boyfriend) and Shari and it is in his castle will Lizzie be staying. Appalled and alarmed she hesitates but Luke promises he wont let a word out. She enjoys her stay very much at the castle and also falls for Luke. But since Lizzie can never keep her mouth shut, she gets into trouble. Now Luke is upset with her, she also has to rescue the castle from being converted into a 5 star hotel and she must redesign the Bride's dress (thanks to her major in fashion). Then to complicate things, Andrew returns. Will Lizzie find her true love. What happens to her future without graduation. With Lizzie constantly getting into trouble with her big mouth, the name Queen of Babble is so apt. The authors decription about the castle and the many picturesque details of the valley are so vivid. Her lucid writing ensures that the book is simple, uplifting with the right twists to make it a light read. The short description on the history of fashion, which is the thesis submitted by Lizzie, is a very informative touch. No logics, no brain fodder, nothing compliacted, makes this a completely satisfying read.
