Today was a particularly busy day at office and I was looking forward to the office cab that takes me home at six-o-clock. The cab usually leaves at 6:15 and ususally I go early enough to not miss it. Today, I got so busy helping a colleague that I lost track of time and when I checked my watch, I was already 6:13. I hurriedly picked my bag, locked my desktop and started running towards the exit. Suddenly, I remembered that I am not holding my mobile phone. I hurriedly opened my bag and realised to my dismay that the phone is not there as well. I then ran back to my seat, not really expecting it to be there but still deciding to check nevertheless. I hurriedly told my teammate to call to my phone so that I can locate it when it rings. By that time, I was getting ready to run to the pantry or the ladies rest room which are the possible locations to find the mobile as I don't carry it elsewhere. She called to my phone and I heard the familiar ringtone. The ring appeared to be very near and I frantically started running around my seat and the nearby places. The funniest part was that the intensity of the ring appeared to be the same wherever I went and still I could not spot the phone. I started getting very desperate and was sure that I would miss the cab. My frenzied search was also attracting a lot of attention from the people nearby. Just then, my teammate with a broad grin on her face, pulled the phone out from the pocket of my kurta.
I was embarassed beyond words and people were looking at me in mocked laughter. I ran out, this time to cover my chagrin than to catch the cab on time. I got the cab, but I am wondering how I am going to face everyone at the office tomorrow :P :D .
