lenses in our eyes

Author : inquisitiveguurl      Blog : Delirium- the madness saves me.      Date : 1/9/2013 6:49:00 PM

'An idea just occurred to me. Like how we all have lenses on our eyes, we have lenses in our brains, our perspective. Somebody is looking down on a thing from an angle too wide, somebody’s lens in facing the subject from an angle, somebody has a lens up close. You cant say anybody’s angle is wrong or right, its just the way it is. Everyone’s lens is right. Some are a bit focused, some are not. Some lenses are a bit tinted, some are rose tinted, some are just plain. But its just every(...)'

Author : inquisitiveguurl      Blog : Delirium- the madness saves me.      Date : 10/15/2012 6:02:00 PM

'Where do I start talking about this book? In the beginning the book stunned me by its size, the English version that I had bought was hardly 300 pages. I had seen a much fatter original book in Marathi. In the introduction, the erudite Ms. Irawati Karve tells us the difference between this English version and the Marathi one, explaining us certain sections that she hasn’t included and the ones she has made shorter. This is one book that takes the Myth out of the supposed “Mythology” (...)'

'I really think its more about what you do which will determine where you will go. I have been thinking a lot about this. I am the kind of person who is always pressed for time even if I am sitting jobless at home. There are so many things to do at home, so much of cleaning, drawing, reading, watching TV.I sometimes wonder, not wonder anymore, but know that I am in a way whiling away my time, not doing what I really should be doing- Researching more seriously about documentaries, goi(...)'

Finally did it- Makeover campaign completed

Author : inquisitiveguurl      Blog : Delirium- the madness saves me.      Date : 6/12/2012 7:11:00 PM

'Whoah! It was quite unexpected the response that I got on facebook for the makeover campaign. I didn’t want to pursue journalists over this, but I did eventually, after realizing that the NMMT officials ought to know about the deteriorated condition at the depot and the state of the employees and I hoped that they would be shamed in some way. After thinking a bit about the theme for the painting, I decided not to do it the Wall Project style with graphic- heavy work as it might not r(...)'

'An impromptudiscussion with my friends in college put the germ of the idea of trekking inthe Himalayas in my head. I had never trekked before and made plan with myfriends to do it this summer of 2009. Trekking had always fascinated me and theidea of playing in the snow, seeing mighty snow-filled peaks in front of medefinitely made for an exhilarating experience.I went to thesite of Youth Hostel Association of India(YHAI) and upon calling them, they said the quota fromMumbai was full(...)'

'Review of Revolution 2020:(Spoilers ahead) What I really like about Chetan Bhagat’sbooks is that he gives a thoughtful insight into things that the rest ofIndia  doesn’t know. He describes it insuch a way that it seems just plain fascinating. The same feeling was goingthrough my mind when I read the book. Revolution 2020 is a story of a boy- Gopalwho is in love with his childhood best friend Aarti, the daughter of a wealthyDM. Raghav is his friend from school who is highly(...)'

Cocoon

'The immediate image in my mind which comes up is of a turtle, who has withdrawn into his shell or rather a cocoon. I think now I am becoming more of a recluse than before. I am a more of a going-out kind of a person, who likes to go out with friends, throw parties, go for plays, films etc...I couldnt imagine really being hunched up at home in front of TV or of a computer screen all day. Staying at home for a stretch of days was unimaginable. Being a filmmaker, and aspiring to become(...)'

'A clichéd way to start something, but its true that..Greatest of truths take time to dawnThrough great hardships sometimesOr else how will the lessons be learnt this well?Something like Breathing.Look and feel it carefully. You have begun to breathe, reallyPaying attention to your breaths one by oneAll the madness that you thought consumed you…Wasn’t all of that one big illusionIt is possible to simply shake it away, I have Discovered.Let it go off just like a dewdrop which slides o(...)'

Some fleeting but reassuring moments

Author : inquisitiveguurl      Blog : Delirium- the madness saves me.      Date : 12/19/2011 7:31:00 PM

'Its an unbelievably warm feeling...comes as a rainbow in the aftermath of a turbulent storm. Some simple kind words that literally caress your soul. They come from a stranger asking a very simple thing, showing a bit of care, kindness and empathy. They come at a time when badly needed after a disastrous series of events coming at you one after another like a stack of dominos. They come from an elderly gentleman whom you just met at a hotel lobby, seeing desperation on your face...un(...)'

I am documenting their success stories all over Maharashtra. I have got the ball rolling on this project only after struggling a bit. 'Sometimes I cant help but notice small things around me. While doing something else, going somewhere, our attention simply wanders there and the mind takes it in. Small insignificant things, such that you never know how they might come together and build a mosaic to make a picture unto themselves.Things, like two college friends talking to one another, one telling the other about an exquisitely beautiful girl that travels in the morning train with her everyday and describing the gir(...)'

Review of the book- Legends of Meluha (Author- Amish)

'I managed to read this book seriously after months of it lying in my cupboard. Once I picked it up, I simply couldn’t put it down. It’s a well-written, entertaining and knowledgable book. It’s the story set in 1200 BC of a Tibetan tribal called Shiva who is destined to deliver Suryavanshis from evil- Chandravanshis who have been mounting ruthless attacks on them, creating strife and disturbing the peaceful lives of these citizens, for the age-defying ‘Amrit’ called Somras which mak(...)'

Oh my God! you stay in Airoli?!!

Author : inquisitiveguurl      Blog : Delirium- the madness saves me.      Date : 10/10/2011 10:26:00 AM

'My house is 5 minutes from Airoli station. I usually have to wait only 4 minutes at Airoli station for the train at peak hours. It takes 8 minutes to go to thane via train. Thane is the station where all fast trains halt to go towards Dadar and CST. I get off at Dadar and change the train at western lines and catch a fast train for jogeshwari if I am lucky. I am fine with a slow train for Jogeshwari also, which takes 20 minutes from Dadar. Then it’s a 10 minutes ride to my destinati(...)'

My theory of relatives!

Author : inquisitiveguurl      Blog : Delirium- the madness saves me.      Date : 9/19/2011 11:52:00 AM

'Relatives can sometimes be snoopy, irritating and judgmental. I have got loads of friends who have got lots of relatives in Mumbai and other cities and they keep visiting my friends’ houses almost every week. They cause schedules to go haywire, additional household work meant for the women and children and deadlines to return home. I always see my friends in a very sad mood when there is this exodus of relatives every month, and every week. After seeing them, I often wonder how my si(...)'
