They never expect the referees to ask something in return because most of the time, they assume it's a privilege. Also, the scientists try to be in the good books of the editors so they can publish. Shruthi, I feel this was said only in the context of 'education', and wasn't meant as a comment on the native's general intelligence level. The admiration was for the native's ability to excel in European subjects without the benefit of a formal education, or passed-down learning from earlier generations. So, I'll be more charitable to the Brit :)

I think it is necessary to encourage good movies made anywhere/anytime- by good- original/engrossing/layered/non-offensive is all that I mean. This film checks all of these.
